 Accommodation
The conference will be held at the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa located in Karon Beach, about 45 minutes south of Phuket International Airport. Special rates and rooms have been arranged (see attached flyer) and reservations should be made directly with the hotel. Since this is the peak season in Phuket, THE HOTEL WILL SELL OUT. Room availability can not be guaranteed after December 1. There are, however, numerous other hotels and spas nearby in Karon Beach.
 The Spa
The Resort's 1500 square metre Thai-style spa is set amidst 75 acres of lush tropical foliage where coconut trees and lutus lagoons abound. In keeping with the stylish architecture of the resort, soft flowing lines and expressive sharp angles of ancient Thailand, combined with the feel of traditional Thai village, offer a totally rejuvenating and indulgent spa experience.
The Spa features 15 self contained palatial treatment villas, a large reception area, retail shop, beauty salon, a dining outlet called Tao Garden, and a meandering wooden walkway that connects all villas to the heart of the spa, its welcome lobby. The spa menu offers a blissful array of Asian herbal rituals and Western technology based treatment.
 Getting There

Phuket is a short 1 hour flight south of the capital city Bangkok (BKK). A new state of the art airport recently opened in Bangkok in September 2006 and is served by many of the world's major airlines. There are daily nonstop flights from New York (17 hours) and from Los Angeles (15hours) via Thai Airways. Other carriers offer 1 and 2 stop service via Europe or the Pacific.

Lowest economy airfares to Bangkok or Phuket from the US range from about $1,100 to $1,600. Business and First Class airfares start at $4,500 and up

US airlines serving Bangkok directly include United, Continental, and Northwest. Delta and American fly to Bangkok via partner airlines. If you have frequent flyer miles, the required mileage for free tickets ranges from 90,000-180,000 for economy and 110,000-240,000 for Business/First. These seats however, are heavily booked and difficult to procure, especially during the peak season.

We are organizing a group flight for those interested in traveling together departing New York (JFK) Feb. 1 and returning Feb. 9 . Economy round trip airfare direct to Phuket (HKT) via Thai Airways is $1,250 (as of October 15, 2006.) We will likely arrange a similar group departure from Los Angeles.

Please call Carol at 516-867-2036 or email at rabco@ix.netcom.com and we can assist with any travel arrangement.
